Well, I'm about a month late for posting the one-year update on my trio, but better late than never.

It's been an eventful, busy year, but a wonderful one. My former 30-weekers are now a year old and doing great. There are just a few things we still need to work on.

At the one-year ped visit, the doctor was not very happy with the babies' lack of weight gain since their 9-month appointment (they weighed in between 15-1/2 pounds and 17-1/2 pounds). I explained to him that it was probably because they were sick nearly the entire winter(pneumonia, bronchitis, RSV, you name it, we had it!) He wasn't completely satisfied that that was the problem, so he told me that he wanted the babies to continue on formula for another 6 weeks. We have a weight check scheduled for this Thursday, and hopefully we can start drinking milk, which will be a blessing to my wallet.

The only other preemie issue we are still dealing with is Gabrielle's lungs. Like the boys, she was sick all winter, but the boys would get an antibiotic, a few days of nebulizer/albuterol treatments and they'd be done with it. Gabrielle's coughing and wheezing had a tendancy to linger and linger and linger. She got sick 3 days after their first birthday party, and she had the cough for 5 weeks. Finally the doctors put her on Intal in an attempt to prevent her from getting "sick in her lungs" anymore. She's only been on it for a week, so we'll have to wait and see how it works.

Aside from those 2 negatives, everything is great. The gap between their corrected age and their true age is getting smaller. We anticipate them being completely caught up in the next 6 months to a year.

I'd love to post a picture...can anyone tell me how?

Thanks,
Pam
