Whenever I tell people that I come from a rural area and then tell them
I grew up in NJ, they never believe me. In 1975 when I left, there
were more cows than people in the county, a fact that made the front
page of the NJ Herald. I had friends in Highland Lakes too. My youngest
brother was born at Newton Memorial. I still go back, I have lots of
friends from school that still live there (which sort of shocks me actually)
My Dad lives in Orange County NY, and my sister moved from Schnectady to
Long Island a few years ago. I try to go back in mid October every year
because the fall in the only time of year I really miss. I don't miss the
humidity or the mosquitoes, but I do miss the green.
