I *can* tell you that I heard of the study (mother-in-law in FL heard it on the news a few nights ago and called to tell us) AND from personal experience. Colin had a bout with bleeding diaper rash - I posted here, seeking advice and Doug (a Neonatologist) responded, suggesting that Colin's zinc levels might be low. Low zinc levels can result in slow healing, poor appetite, etc. We had Colin tested (a simple blood test) and lo and behold, he was slightly deficient. We are providing 7 cc's/day of zinc in oral formulation. His diaper rash healed rapidly - wish I could say the same about his poor appetite, but that's another story!
