I would just like to give you some encouragement!
My daughter was born at 28wks and was doing very
well.Vent rates were between 10 and 15 for the
first week but soon after they started to climb!
I remember how desperate I felt, and when I talked
to the dr's they made it sound as if this was an
unusual case(testing for cystic fibrosis,etc, etc).
But Kelsey's rate went as high as 60 and then very
quickly began to drop until she was off the vent
(about 4 days). She is now home and doing very
well at 8lbs. I hope this makes you feel better.
