Anyone else tortured during hospital visits?

Hi, everyone!
I just want to know if anyone else had the type of mental torture I
had during my many hospital stays while pregnant.
Because of my condition, I was always kept in L&D rooms, no matter
how many nights I had to stay. So while I laid there, almost
grieving because I was afraid of losing Brandon, not knowing if I'd
ever hear his newborn cries, I was forced to lay in my bed listening
to other women having healthy births. I tried to block it out, but
how can you block out women moaning and screaming in pain with
contractions, block out the sounds they make when they're pushing, or
especially, how can you block out those sounds followed by the cry of
a newborn child?
It's a very hard thing to take. My door was always open, but so were
the doors of all the other women while in labor. My mom could tell
it really bothered me. I felt like I was stuck in that room because
the buzzards were just waiting for me to lose Brandon. Only one time
did I ever get a regular room (OR a regular bed--even though I'd
spend 2 or 3 nights in the hospital, I always had to sleep on those
obstetrical beds that were hard as rocks). I had stabilized and was
out of danger, but the docs wanted to observe me for a couple more
days, so someone who must have realized my torture had me moved to a
private room in another ward. Bless that nurse!
