After Tommy came home on oxygen, we got a rejection from BC/BS for the oxygen
in a letter saying that BC/BS doesn't pay for items supplied for the patients
"comfort".
After a nasty letter for me (I told them they should be ashamed of
themselves) and then from one of the Neonatologists, BC/BS did end up paying.
I'm amazed they can get away with being so irresponsible.
We also received a bill from the hospital in excess of $300,000 which, the
hospital explained, had to be billed to us because our insurance was late in
paying.
The whole thing just amazed me.
