My BC/BS covered the girls because the NEVER left the hospital. They
covered their entire stay. I only had single coverage, and had no
intention of converting to family. We had family under my husbands
employer. I submitted all the doctor/extra bills to Prudential, but the
hospital automatically submitted their bills to BC/BS as they had that
down for me. They covered 12 weeks for Alyssa and 17 1/2 for Nicole
without a peep! The only thing was they wanted authorization for being
in the NICU, I had to explain that they couldn't be in the Nursery
(regular) until the doctor authorized it, they had to go straight to
NICU! The person on the phone couldn't understand! I nearly flipped
out, until I reached my pediatrician (who advised us to have the hospital
neonatologists treat them until they were discharged) and he called BC/BS
and straightened them out! Interesting how each state is different.

Mom to Alyssa and Nicole 5/26/91 due 8/22/91
