Oh my.....I almost forgot about the HAT!!!!

I got to the point that I would check the ph with the little
strips myself and write it down on the chart that they just left
     lying around.

The nurses didn't mind (too much). One less chore for them to
do and it saved me from calling and annoucing over tha PA system
"my hats full, could you come empty it for me."

The only part of bedrest that I found truly humilitating was when I was in
the hospital on the mag and they needed to measure my liquid input and
output. The put a little pot gizmo on the toilet to measure. Most of the
nurses were good about checking every hour or two, but some weren't, so the
pot would be full and I'd have to go again. So I'd have to ring the nurses
station and broadcast to anyone who happened to be in the hall that I needed
the pot emptied. I know to them it was just part of the job, and wouldn't
have minded so much if they had given me a code instead of having to be
blunt.
