Taylor (28 wks, 1 lb, 15 oz) did not walk solo until 22 mo. Three days later, 
he began to run.
For him we did LOTS AND LOTS of praise and coaksing.  Gary and I would sit on 
the floor, put T between us and say stuff like "go give daddy big hug> go 
get mommy" And then praise when he tried a solo step.  Once he took those 
initial steps, there was no stopping him.  For about a week, he paced between 
pieces of furnature all day long, nonstop.
