Have an O.T. evaluate your child for sensory-integration
difficulties. A lot of former preemies seem to have trouble judging
their body in space, etc. It is thought to have something to do with the
developmentally inappropriate sensory input they experience during the
effort to keep them alive outside the womb. Children with this problem
are often afraid to lift their feet from the ground, etc. If this is the
trouble, an O.T. with experience in S-I therapy may be able to help
tremendously.
