Hi to All!
Regarding hospital bills, my husband and I got a good laugh when we read our
statements. $42.00 for a roll of tape, $200.00 for the gavage tubes which
were changed two times a day, $125.00 for a can of powdered formula(my kids
were breastmilk babies), but we did receive the powder when we left, etc....
Totally amazing. Katrina had an infection in her intestines that required
three specialists who charged an arm and a leg. Emily had come home and two
days later, went into full arrest. We had her readmitted, the cost for 10
days? $24,950. In which time she recieved no special attention, just the
usual monitoring. Our NICU charges $3600.00 dollars a day not including
doctors fees. Like I mentioned earlier, we were told they bill so high
because they see only a third of what was charged. So in reality, my girls
were more like $450,000 each. Hope that sounds a little more realistic.
Personally, sounds a little like insurance fraud to me. Go figure.
