Andee,
Thanks for your thoughts. I am trying to look at things from the perspective
of a health care worker. I can understand a *blind* call from a neighbor or
even a teacher. But I am incredibly offended at this reaction from a health
care worker. Here is my thinking. At that moment when she saw Travis and his
bruises, I was a captive audience with both of my kids there. If I were
really an abuser, I feel she dropped the ball even more. She was concerned
enough to call, but not concerned enough to give Travis a full examination,
or consult with anyone else. She did not even contact the ped. social
worker. She did not even speak to Taylor little lone try to see if he had
any problems. She simply looked in Travis's ears and listened to his chest.
AND LET US LEAVE. I feel that if she would have done a more thorough
examination, I could have proven myself innocent. And on the same token, If I
were a real abuser, she put him in more danger by letting us leave without
further examination. I really have no problem with her being concerned. I
honestly think that she was not concerned enough.
