Hello Everyone:
I, too felt awful about being on bedrest.
I was planning a special weekend for my husband and I for fathers
day weekend, and ended up in the hospital the friday before we were
suppose to leave.
I felt sooo guilty because I could not "spoil him" with breakfast in
bed, father's day gifts, or a special dinner. Our anniversary was
5 days later, and I couldn't even get him a card! I did get to go
home for the 4th of July week. I was on the home monitoring system
too. But, it didn't last....I was home 5 days. Back to the
hospital.
My husband became a single father to our son instantly. It hurt so
much to watch them leave from my window. My husband would try to
visit every night on the way home from work and bring our son by on
the weekends.
The nurses were great. They would play cards with me, get me dove
ice cream bars, and espresso. One night we ordered a pizza and had
a little party in my room. Shouldn't of ate the onions....
On the note of bosses/coworkers:
After darren's coworkers found out I was expecting twins and then on
bedrest, they decided to take up a collection for us. His supervisor
raised over $900.00 for us!! We were shocked! My coworkers gave us
over $100 for toys r' us. Then a couple of darrens coworkers took us
out for dinner, fixed us dinner, and watched tyler, so we could have
some time for ourselves and our babies.
On the note of insurance:
I was on a COBRA plan when I tried to get pregnant, but it didn't work
so we waited until open enrollment and I signed up for the best plan
I could get because I already new I was high risk (too bad they
didn't). Technically, I got pregnant in december and coverage started
in january. But they (bc/bs of WA) go by your first check up. Which
was february, so they had to cover everthing. They did try to deny
coverage when I was on bedrest say it was "pre existing". My benefits
administrator set them straight!
Well, this is getting long winded, so I will close. Have a great day!
Sincerely,
Yvonne
