Insensitive Accounts People

I remembered, after I wrote my other message, about a really terrible thing
that happened. The cardiologist that saw Alex for his patent ductus didn't
get his health insurance number at the time (he didn't have one yet),
About 2 months later I got a badly photocopied form letter from his
secretary asking that I provide this. She was in the same hospital. The
worst part was that the form letter said that if your baby died it was
still up to you to get the health number to the doctor otherwise you would
have to pay. It was so terrible to think that someone whose baby didn't
make it would open this letter up in the mail and have to relive their
baby's death, just so someone could get their money. I called the
secretary and screamed at her ( I was still having hysterical bits now and
then) even though Alex was then okay. I told her how insensitive it was
sending letters and couldn't she just walk over to the health number people
herself. She said she was just much too busy (ya, sending form letters).
I was a bitch and never gave her the number, told her if she wanted her
damm money she could get the number herself. I also complained to the head
of NICU who didn't know that this practice was going on. They have tried
to change this now. The doctor was a peach by the way. He was the kind of
guy that would practice medicine just for the love of it.
Excuse my swearing, this still makes me mad, especially after losing a baby.
