Preterm Labor

There have been numerous posts with regard to extended bedrest and even
hospital stays to avoid or control preterm labor.

I wish my wife would have had that option.

Despite being considered a high risk pregnancy (twins, and age > 35) her OB
didn't plan on placing her on disability until 32 weeks. After compaining to
her nurse pratctitioner, she wrote an order to go to half workdays at 28
weeks.

Her first half-day she came home in labor. By the time she was evaluated, a
liter of fluid, Terbutaline, and Mag-Sulfate had no effect. An hour later
she was going to surgery for an emergency C-section. Total elapsed time from
first labor to delivery, approximately 8 hours.
