stress and pre-term labor

I mentioned this before but I'll say it again. I believe stress did
play a role in Emma's premature birth. I was working as a therapist
in a children's psychiatric hospital. The work was fine, it was the
administration that was insane :) Totally unrealistic expectations for
what "should" be accomplished in a day and frequent changes in rules,
paperwork systems, philosopies...you name it, they changed it.
All in all, a very unpleasant place to work. I can't believe I survived
there 2 years!
Another factor I've wondered about is "baby activity level". Emma
was born early because my water broke. She was an EXTREMELY busy little
person prior to birth and her favorite hobby was "let's kick mommy's
cervix". Is it possible that she literally kicked herself out? She
was 4 lb. 3 oz. at birth so was a fair size by the time the water
actually broke.

39 weeker Shannon, 5.5 months.

"We should be careful to get out of an experience only the wisdom in it--and
stop there; lest we be like the cat that sits down on a hot stove-lid. She
will never sit down on a hot stove-lid again, and that is well; but also
she will never sit down on a cold one anymore." Mark Twain
