I agree that this was one thing that only added to the nightmare. Emma's
bill wasn't particularly large (by preemie baby standards :) but still,
$17,000 was a LOT more than we could pay! The insurance company, Blue
Cross and Blue Shield of Montana, was so awful to us. They were in
the process of "updating" their system so claims were taking 6 months
to process. Well guess what? The hospital wasn't real thrilled with
waiting that long to be paid.
I finally turned all our bills and insurance statements over to our
wonderful Personnel Director and he got things straightened out. It
was definitely stress I did NOT need!
Lynda, mom to 33 weeker Emma, 3.6 (for whom we finally paid $2,000)
and 39 weeker Shannon, 5.5 months (a real bargain at only $54 :)
