Hi, Justine
It's taken me a while to get through your breastfeeding survey but it's
been a good experience for me. Thanks! I always hoped that I would be
able to write about this difficult period of my life and your questions
have helped me to frame my thoughts. Information on feeding preemies is
almost impossible to find.
I'm thrilled that you are collecting stories. I think of the expressing room at
Monash Medical Centre - a wretched place in an otherwise excellent hospital!
What a difference it would make if real information provided by other
mothers was available to the newly shell-shocked parents. Are you thinking
along these lines?
I'm working up to writing about our experience of "NICU hell". Most of the time
it is still too awful to contemplate. Contributing to the preemie-l group has
been wonderfully healing for Gary and I - although I can barely keep up
with reading the mail. It's become an important part of my life.
