Subject: Last two babies came home last night!
Hi everyone:
After 4 weeks and 1 day, I got a call yesterday to pick up our last two
babies!!! Jimmy has been home for 10 days, and so visiting the hospital
to see Eddie and Lily in NICU has been hard on us.
Neither Eddie nor Lily is on a heart/breathing monitor---go figure!
Jimmy is so much bigger and will be on his monitor for a while yet,
as we get at least one apnea alarm per day, and a low heart beat alarm
about every couple of days.
Lily is taking the same breathing stimulant as Jimmy (Theophylline), and
like Jimmy, she takes Cisapride to prevent spitup, as well as vitamins.
Little Eddie, the smallest of the three, is taking nothing but vitamins.
What a little champion he is--he is so tiny and fragile looking, but he
takes in more formula than Jimmy or Lily, and he does it faster than
the others too!! We are so proud of all three..they are real fighters
Current weights:
Jimmy 5 lb 8 oz
Lily 4 lb 9 oz
Eddie 4 lb 7 oz
In case you missed my introduction, our triplets were born on 2/18/96
(two months early). Lily had an open PDA, and all three spent lots
of time under the bili lights. We were lucky that we didn't have worse
problems, and that all three could breathe on their own. I can't tell =
you
how happy we are, and our hearts go out to everyone whose babes are
currently in NICU. We wish all the NICU babes a speedy and safe trip =
home.
