Hearing or speach problem?

Hi all!
I have been meaning to ask this for a week now, but I am in major pain with
an infected impacted wisdom tooth. Thank God, I am going to see tha oral
surgeon in about an hour.
Now for my question. When my Occupational therapist came over last week to
evaluate my girls, she commented that Emily may either be speach delayed or
hard or hearing. Katrina on the other hand is far beyond her age appropriate
stages. She talks in complete sentences. Emily has recently just started to
add more words to her vocabulary. She has had the norm downpact,e.g. mama,
dada, grandma,bye bye, doggie. She has the motivation to want to speak,
sometimes, other times, everything is ABU, BABU and an occasional MOMBU. The
newer words she is trying out sound mumbled and are not clear. Has anyone
been hit with this problem? My PED seems unconcerned. What should I do? Any
comments would be appreciated.
