Yvonne, Darren, Tyler, Savanna and Taryn Paschke:

     Hello All:

I would like to introduce to you myself and my family: I am Yvonne,
my husband is Darren, Tyler is our first born (31 weeker), Savanna
and Taryn are our last (30 weekers).

Boy, I don't know where to start.... Well Tyler was due June 25, 1988
and I went into labor on April 13th. The doctors tried stopping the
labor with Ridodrine (sp) and mag. I went symptomatic on the
ritodrine and toxic on the Mag. After four days, of drugs, steriods,
no food, and no showers I deliverd. Tyler weighed in at 4lbs 4 oz and
17 3/4 inces long. He spent 5 weeks in the NICU before we got to
bring him home. His biggest problem was the Apnea. He now is a
healthy almost 8 year old boy who enjoys soccer, baseball, and bmx
racing. Our only problem is that tyler has seizures now. He gets
     this from mom.

Our second and third children are Savanna and Taryn (yes, they are
twins). I went into premature labor with them at 24 weeks. I was put
on bedrest in the hospital for 6 weeks. There we did the mag sulfate
again, and the steroids again, and instead of ritodrine, we got
terbutiline. The girls were due September 22, 1993, they came on
July 18, 1993. Savanna is the first born weighing in at 4lbs 4oz.
Taryn came 4 minutes later weighing in at 3lbs 9oz. Taryn was
venilated for 3 days. Then she dropped too much weight (went down to
2lbs 14ozs). After this, we found out that she had
NEC (necromizing entero colitis). They stopped feeding her for 2
weeks, only giving her HA (nutrient) and IV fluids. She was a fighter
though...(still is, that is with her sister). The girls were in the
NICU for 8 weeks. The girls are happy and healthy, still a little
small, but I am not to worried about that.

It has been determined that I can not carry anything over 4 pounds.
So, the girls were the last. I remember how scared I was when we had
tyler. It helped with the girls, you know having the knowledge of
what goes on in a NICU. But even still, there were some scary times.

Well, thats my family. I will be looking forward to hearing from all
of you out there in preemie land!

     Thank you for listening....
