Hello to all. My son, Kevin was born at 35 weeks at 4lb 4oz, and small for
gestational age. He spent 10 rather uneventful days in the NICU as a
growing baby and came home to us at 4 pounds. On his fifth day home, he
became ill and returned to the emergency room. He was having a grade III
(IVH) bleed, and was transferred to a larger unit for major intervention.
He is four years old now. He has cerebral palsy, is shunted for
hydrocephalus, fed through g-tube, vision impaired, profoundly
developmentally delayed, and adorable. He is a fine kid.
My interest in the list comes from my participation in a support group for
NICU families at the same hospital where Kevin was born. I would have
loved to talk with others four years ago, but the group did not exist at
that time.
Regards,
