Digestive problems

Hi. My preemie daughter Katie is almost 11 months old now. She has done a
fabulous job of catching up this first year - she is 22 pounds and almost
30 inches tall. She even crawls and cruises a little! The only trouble she
has had is a TERRIBLE time with milk allergy. Lately, she has been off
and on several different formulas and has never really found one that she
likes. She acts somewhat allergic (rubs her face alot and generally acts
uncomfortable after eating) even when she is on soy formula. An
allergy test has shown clearly that she should NOT be allergic to soy
(not so much as a red mark on her back from the prick test for soy). My
allergist tells me that digestive problems are pretty common with
preemies and not to worry so much. And that if her discomfort were truly an
allergic reaction, there would have been some indication of that on the
allergy test she had last week.
At any rate, I am very tired of worrying about this. Any of you out there
had trouble with digestive problems? Shall we stick with the soy formula a
while longer? She has tried Nutramigen (this wildly expensive hypoallergenic
formula that she HATES) and I REALLY do not want to go back to that awful
stuff. I'd much rather she drink the soy stuff, if at all possible. Any
advice appreciated...
