We live outside Orange City, Iowa on an acreage and I work in Sioux
Center, Iowa for Dordt College (housing director and counselor). When
Emma was born we lived in Helena, Montana.

Re: visitation. Wow, I didn't realize how fortunate we were! We could
literally visit or call any time, day or night. The "NICU" as such was
small...Emma was the only baby there the first week then was joined
by a little boy the second week. It was a "Level 2" hospital meaning
that if she had required a respirator they would have had to transport
her to the larger hospital in either Great Falls or Missoula. We were
very thankful that she never required this level of intervention.

Another question...did you all videotape your babies while they were
in NICU? A friend videod Emma for us and now that tape is so precious!
I never thought I'd forget how small she was but now as I watch
myself on video picking her up and rocking her I can't believe I ever
dared touch a baby that small...no wonder we were nervous when we took
her home! :)

the whole 40 weeks :)
