Yes, the vent settings are probably due to the infections. You have
to remember that these little ones have to deal with soooo much, and
their energy reserve is almost nil. They used to stop everything else
when Taylor had infections, so that he could use all of his energy to
fight.
Taylor was only on the vent initially for 3 days. But at 4 weeks old
his right lung collapsed. He was then intubated on full settings for
a long time. IT took a full month to wean him back down.
