I would like to finally introduce myself and my family to the group. My name is Tammy, my husband is Gary, and we have 2 children, Taylor, 3, and Travis, 15 mo. Taylor is a 28 weeker, he weighed 1 lb 15.4 oz and was 13 1/2 in. My pregnancy was very high-tech and complicated. I went into labor at 20 weeks and was put on mag sulfate and terbutaline. It was at this time that I was diagnosed with twin to twin transfusion syndrome (basically, my sons shared an umbilical vein.). It also caused me to have excess amnionic fluid. The docs did 5 amnionic drains and removed a total of 7 liters of fluid. At 25 weeks, Alexander died. Taylor then received an in-utero blood transfusion. Then at 27 weeks my water broke. It was at this time that, the docs saw that Taylor had had a brain hemeorage in-utero. Taylor held off for 10 more days, but on Good Friday, he started to have problems with the contractions. THen the nurses could not detect a heartrate. So off to L and D I went.!
The doc entered the room and sai
Taylor is doing pretty well at the moment, he has some delays, an aversion to food and tactile stimulation. But OT and PT are addressing that.
I encourage the rest of you to post your introductions so we can all get to know each other. Chances are whatever questions, and emotions you have, someone else in the group has had also, we are here to help each other. I look forward to hearing from you all!!
Tammy, mom to Taylor and angel Alex, and Travis, and wife to 'mostly out to sea Gary.
