Armidale, NSW
Location - Near the centre of town. For details on how to get there, contact the contact person below.
When you can ride/ race - Being on public land, the course can be ridden at all times. To our knowledge they hold a race or two a year.
Rating - National standard
Year of construction - 2004
Course designer - Glen Jacobs – Former designer of World Cup Dual Compressor courses. Designer of the majority of 4X courses throughout Australia .
Highlights - Host of a round of the 04/05 National series and host of a round of the 05/06 National series.

Newcastle, NSW

Location - On the McNaughton family's property, Blackhill. For details on how to get there, contact the contact person below.
When you can ride/ race - Being on private land and therefore can only be ridden at official events. They usually hold around three events there each year.
Rating - National standard.
Year of construction - 2004.
Course designer - Glen Jacobs/ Robbie McNaughton. Glen Jacobs is former designer of World Cup Dual Compressor courses. Designer of the majority of 4X courses throughout Australia . Robbie McNaughton is editor of CLICT magazine, co-manager of Black Phoenix Films, and more.
Highlights - Host of GT Mountain Cross in 2003, and the final of the 04/05 National series, also the final of the 05/06 National series.

Sydney, NSW
Location - Olympic Park. For details on how to get there, contact the contact person below.
When you can ride/ race - The course will be on public land and therefore can be ridden at all times. West Sydney MTB club is set to be the club that oversees the course and they usually run a number events each year.
Rating - To be decided.
Year of construction - 2005
Course designer - Brett Barnes.
Highlights - Host of the opening round of the 05/06 National series - the biggest event in Austrlian 4X history.

Thredbo, NSW
Location - On one of the slopes of Thredbo. For details on how to get there, contact the contact person below.
When you can ride/ race - Details of when you can ride the course are not yet available. However it seems likely that the same conditions would apply to riding it as apply to riding the rest of the mountain. Contact Raw NRG for details. RawNRG hold a number of events at Thredbo each year. This should follow with the 4X course.
Rating - Not yet known due to the fact that the course has not been constructed as yet.

Cairns, QLD

When you can ride/ race - We understand the park is private land and as such, the course can only be ridden at official events. They usually hold a few events there each year.
Rating - National standard.
Year of construction - 2004.
Course designer - Glen Jacobs - Former designer of World Cup Dual Compressor courses. Designer of the majority of 4X courses throughout Australia.

Bacchus Marsh, VIC
Location - On a Recreation Reserve on the outskirts of Bacchus Marsh. For details on how to get there, contact the contact person below.
When you can ride/ race - Being on Public land you can ride it at any time. Races used to be held there a number of times a year, however there hasn't been a race there since early 2004.
Rating - Local/ State standard.
Year of construction - 2002.

Course designer - Brendan Billings – Former BMX Pro turned MTB DH and 4X rider.

Highlights - Second biggest turnout of riders to an Australian event (in 2002, 110 riders turned out for the inaugural event).

Other info - According to locals, the course has not been maintained for quite a while, therefore it isn't ideal to ride.

 

Eildon, VIC
Location - On Water Authority land on the outskirts of Eildon at the foot of the hill. For details on how to get there, contact the contact person below.
When you can ride/ race - Being on private land, the Eildon course can only be ridden at official events. They usually hold at least two events there a year.
Rating - State standard.
Year of construction - 2003.
Course designer - Brendan Billings and Ben Reynolds. Brendan is a former BMX Pro turned MTB rider. Ben designed both the DH and 4X courses at Eildon and is a seasoned DH and 4X rider.
Highlights - Host of the 2004 Oceania Championships, 2004 and 2005 Australian Championships.

Other info - The Eildon course is fairly short and flat, but good fun, especially for beginners.

 

Trafalgar, VIC

Location - Delhuntie Park , Trafalgar East. For details on how to get there, click here.
When you can ride/ race - The course is on Private land so it can only be ridden at official events. They hold Open Days (practice days) there every couple of months and hold a race once a year.
Rating - National standard.
Year of construction - 2002.
Course designer - Brendan Scale – Manager of 4XFEVA.com, 4X & DH course designer, event manager, and 4X/ DH rider.
Highlights - Arguably the first purpose-built 4X course in the country. Until recently, it boasted the biggest turnout of riders to an Australian event (120 riders at the inaugural Rock Shox Bikercross, 2002), and the course continues to attract big numbers of riders. Has featured in a number of magazines, calendars, and DVD's. Quoted in Freewheel Magazine, 2003 as the most exciting track in the land.

Course designer - Sam Hill, Sabrina Jonier – Sam is a top Aussie and World Cup rider and Sabrina was his girlfriend and Pro female rider.
Highlights - Host of a round of the 04/05 National series, also scheduled to host a round of the 05/06 National series. Quoted in Australian Mountain Bike magazine, 2004 as the best course in Australia.
