As a devoted Aussie F1 fan, it was great in 1998 to be at the French and British GP's to see Ferrari win.

Roll on 1999 the year of Ferrari

Roll on 1999. Now everything's over as far as racing is concerned! I hope the AGP next year will be a lot better than that this year (hint: the 98 race couldn't get any worse!!!). I will be glued to my TV screen come next year watching to see Michael Schumacher win!
P.S. Could Santa please give me a ride in the two-seater McLaren at the AGP next year? Please . . .

Hello, bummer Villeneuves doing so bad this year although last weekend was a good race. Let's hope the next couple of races stay dry. Anyway, getting to the point, how many more dirty, cheating and wreckless manouevers are The Cheat and The Glove Puppet going to get away with before the FIA actually act on it?...And when will Murray Walker get it right???

Go Jacques.
It is obvious that he tried his infamous "Damon move" which featured in Adelaide 1994 again in Jerez.
Bad luck about the FW-20 not working this year.

Dear friends,

I'm sending you this e-mail asking for some help! My name is FernandoLopes (25), I'm a student of Architecture back here in Brazil.
This semester I'll have to design an autodrome as my final project at the University of Brasília. I’m going crazy trying to find everything I need. As you can see, I already visited your site, and I want to congratulate all of you cause you did a real great job!
I have to do a research about autodromes around the world, wich shall be the guidelines for my project. So I saved the pictures of the autodrome’s maps that you have in your site, but they have a low resolution for printing!
So I would like to ask you this favor - that if you can send me by e-mail the files containig the drawings/maps of the autodrome that you have on your site (JPG, TIF, CDR,... anyone!).
I already thank you everyone for any kind of help you can give me, if you also have any other material related to autodromes, races... they will be really usefull ! thanks a lot!!!
Sincerely, Fernando Lopes.

It is now WEDNESDAY. Try hitting 'results' on 1998 GP homepage, and you get last years results. US appears to have got no live feed, and GP Corp don't even post results on their web page.
Good one. Take the money and run.

Simply disgraceful! People are clamoring about the "McLaren fix" in the Austrailian GP. Gee, I wish I could have seen it...or for that matter, any part of the GP. F-1 has reached a new low in the US!! Bernie/Max, I hope you're proud of yourselves for the mess you continue to create. Still, I think the sport & interest will continue to grow in the US....despite you two!!
Also, shame on ESPN for not letting us know what was happening!! Poor judgment for the self-proclaimed "leader in worldwide sports"?!@#

It was good to see someone break the Williams stranglehold. But it was not good to see the two Mclaren drivers colluding to fix the race.

Let's hope the others (particularly Jordan) get closer to Mclaren, and let's also hope there are no more dodgy looking pacts.

I though (mistakenly?) that Bernie and Co. were keen to promote F1 in the US? After this weekend's total fiasco, when very few of us knew when (or IF) we could watch the race, I seriously doubt that F1 has any interest at all in pushing itself into the US market. The contract to show the races live having gone to some obscure Satellite broadcaster (Speedvision (who?)), most of us are left with the dregs of a taped delay broadcast on Fox Sports Net. I hope that the situation somehow improves itself in time for Brazil. As a displaced Brit I cannot help but pine for the good old BBC coverage, now long gone.

I don't mean to sound snide, but to all
of you Americans who were left out in
the cold with no television coverage...
don't worry - you really didn't miss
too much of anything.

Really, when you have two cars that end
up lapping nearly four seconds faster
than the entire field, when you have
the reigning world champion ending
up being lapped in spite of no
mechanical failures, when you race
on a track where it's difficult to
overtake in spite of the new regulations, you really have something
that wasn't something as exciting as
it could have been. Yes, I am sorry
to say that, but it's kind of what it
was.

By the way, I've always thought that
Alesi was incredibly overrated - just
look how badly he was beaten by
Herbert. But I digress.

Can a braking system really account
for that much of a difference in lap
times? Mebbe it's the engine too...

No television in the USA. What business ignores its customers? As Roger Penske and Tony Huhlman watch their potential sponsors'logos flying by on the sides of closed wheel Chevy's in Daytona, perhaps Bernie should expect a cool wind of disgust from North America. It would be nice to have some live TV coverage, (even a little bit) on the Thursday and Friday.
I bet, (like last year) while we look at
at the program list in the paper, what we see on TV is mostly not real time for any support races, (if we see them at all).
CHANNEL 9 !! Get your act together and make a "Live coverage" really LIVE.
Some people cannot get to the track.

At least we supply good weather

finally the season begins,

It'll be a long night (2.00AM training + warming up, 4.00AM the race).
We all hope it will be worth it!!!!

A fair race with a Ferrari on front would be nice. Bey

I feel that Ralf is only in F1 because of Michael. Ralf thinks he can be just as good as Michael but he can't. In 97 he took himself out along with others a number of times, thats not very good.

Go Michael!!!!
