Pictured here is the first Footscray returned soldier back from the 1914-18 War, Burnie Burnett. The nurse is Mrs. Louise Smith, of Parker Street (her daughter is Mrs. Ivy Duckett, of Stirling Street). The car is a Siddley Deasy. At the wheel is William Thorley , Footscray's earliest man in the motor car business.(From: Footscray's first 100 years [1959], page 100)
