The endorsed sequence is that strategies to protect several EPBC-listed species must be approved by the Commonwealth before Biodiversity Strategies are finalised, which in turn must be approved before the Framework Plans are finalised. Although both the Framework plan and the survey have been released, the survey data is currently inadequate to complete the strategy for the endangered Golden Sun Moth, and more data cannot be gathered until summer.
Nevertheless, the Friends of Merri Creek will continue our fight to preserve important environmental values, as outlined in: Top ten Biodiversity Issues in the Merri catchment and you can also refer to the Merri Creek Unreserved Sites Map.
