FOLKLAW's Aims
-
To protect and enhance
Koala habitat, and indigenous flora and fauna, of the Mornington
Peninsula and Western Port Regions and to preserve
existing Koala colonies.
-
To ensure the
completion and implementation of the Mornington Peninsula Koala
Conservation Strategy.
-
To promote and
participate in the establishment and extension of Koala habitat on,
both public and private land, throughout the Mornington Peninsula and
Western Port Regions.
-
To contribute to the
promotion and protection of the indigenous flora and fauna of the
Mornington Peninsula and Western Port Regions.
-
To educate the
community and to create awareness of the problems facing koalas and
other wildlife in the Mornington Peninsula and Western Port Regions,
and to promote public participation in the solutions.
-
To
work with appropriate government departments and other relevant bodies
in the monitoring and management of koalas and their habitat in the
Mornington Peninsula and Western Port Regions. To liaise with other
koala conservation groups, thereby participating in protection of
koalas nationally.

To
raise funds for local koala research and to support the group's work,
or other public activities which support the group's general aims.

To establish a public
fund. To do whatever else is necessary to promote the aims of FOLKLAW.
