Beyond the big Smoke.

A large Open Day event is something that can build-up the image of an organisation. It is an opportunity to promote the work being done and to show off some off the achievements so far. In the third year of their operation the Friends of Kurth Kiln were confident enough to tackle the task. Everyone agreed there was a need for an annual event to be staged at Kurth Kiln. It would raise public awareness of what we are doing and give an added incentive to the group with targeted action.

An inquiry from the Eastern Branch of Heritage Victoria for a site suitable for a Heritage Festival during Heritage week in Aril 2002 boosted our confidence and it was agreed to make it a combined full scale festival with the title "Beyond the Big Smoke".

Here are some pictures of the Festival.
