Gas Producer Showroom - Display

Following a Kurth Kiln article published in the Royal Auto Magazine in November 2006 a number of old Gas Producers were offered to the Friends of Kurth Kiln, either on permanent Loan or donated outright. The pages below show the units being picked up from all over Victoria. None of the units are in working order, but at least two are in a condition that would make re-conditioning feasible. The units were accepted on the condition that they would become part of a Display complementing the cultural history of Kurth Kiln in the production of charcoal for the motoring industry.

Discussions with Parks Victoria are ongoing as to the structure of the Show-Room / Display that would fit in with the Heritage aspect of the Kurth Kiln site. The sketch below is a proposal for an open construction on a vacant are behind the kiln itself.
