House hire
The House can be hired for meetings, seminars and group activities, or for children's birthdays and small family gatherings.
Cost: $35 (smaller groups);   $50 (larger groups up to 50 people).

FNH Child CareFlemington Neighbourhood House offers services for a diverse range of people and groups, with the dual aims of serving our community and of helping individuals to develop social networks, self-reliance and personal growth. See also the sections [Education] and [Courses and Activities] for specific information on what we offer.

Child care
Available for people attending classes at the House. Cost: $3 per child per session.
Available to anyone needing occasional child care. Cost: $5 per child per session.


Children's birthday parties
FNH cooking facilitiesThe House provides the perfect location for your child's birthday -- plenty of room, full food preparation facilities, as well as playground and open space for play. Call us about hiring the House.


Education
Flemington Neighbourhood House is host to a variety of education programmes designed to meet the variety of needs of people in our community. Some are for people wishing to improve their basic school education (pre VCE), for people with adult literacy problems, or for people from a non-English speaking background. Other education is more for learning for enjoyment or picking up additional life skills -- yoga, exercise, cooking and U3A classes.

Flemington / Kensington Mentor Group
Offering young people in the area the opportunity to meet on a one to one basis with a mentor who shares a similar interest or can help in the pursuit of their goals. [Please click here to find out more about this programme.]


Flemington Reading and Writing Program
This programme providing English as a second language, literacy and other accredited courses, is located at the House.

Groups
Flemington Neighbourhood House provides a meeting place for many community groups. These include: Flemington Alcoholics Anonymous Branch, the Flemington Residents Association, the Flemington / Kensington Mentor Group and the Stepfamily Association of Victoria.
If your group would like to meet at the House, please phone to arrange a time.

As well we have many other groups like discussion groups and book groups.


Migrants and non-English speaking background
Flemington Neighbourhood House offers English as a Second Language classes. There are also activities for Somali women and a Japanese children's language group. FNH also auspices the Chinese Vietnamese Neighbourhood Centre as well as a Somali support worker.


Older people
Actitvities, learning (including ESL for older adults) and classes on keeping fit.


Referrals
Flemington Neighbourhood House is often the first port of call for people with many varied needs and problems. Our friendly, understanding staff can refer people to the appropriate help they need for their problems.


Social, support and discussion groups
Groups for men and for women. Discussion of issues, support, self help and referral.


Walks and Outings
Experience an adventure in a day with friends.
