Only authoritarian governments that are suggestive to commercial and/or political pressures censor a country's information. These governments, sometimes influenced by vested interest commercial "sponsors", don't trust their citizens and restrict what information is accessible.

Leaked information from ACMA (Australian Communications and Media Authority) shows many falsely blacklisted sites, including some categorised as "advice on dental care". We at the Australian Fluoridation News certainly don't recommend water fluoridation or fluoridated toothpaste, but do our general "warnings" constitute "dental advice"? It depends who answers the question.

The filter/firewall was supposedly to stop pornography and illegal content. So why would the government be so scared of "advice on dental care"? Deflecting the anger, the Minister claims it is a complaint based system. Of course those complaining would be the fluoride providers, about how their hazardous fluoride waste (schedule 6 and 7 poisons) have been "uncovered" by informational, whistleblower websites, and these same fluoride polluters would now be 'investing' their influence on our government implementing the filter.

Australia is one of the last remaining countries to be still trying to expand its fluoridation regime. Most other countries, notably those in Europe, stopped fluoridation years or even decades ago when scientific tests proved it was ineffective in reducing dental decay and instead caused health problems of many kinds including cancer. The Americans and Japanese both proved the fluoride-cancer link. China, where we import some of our fluoride waste from, doesn't fluoridate its population - instead they defluoridate, as natural fluoride demonstrably lowers the IQ of their children. Note that in small but significant doses (such as 1ppm), fluoride is a cumulative poison.

The simple answer to why Australian governments and health authorities are so scared of non-party-line "dental advice" is that Fluoridation is Big Business. And informational sites like ours expose the real reasons for government's one-eyed support, which the big polluters don't like. Governments promoting mass-medication without either consultation or individual patients' consent is authoritarian medication, just like the "internet filter" is authoritarian censorship. In essence, both are driven by commerce, supported by government, "forced" on the citizens with copious amounts of rhetoric and spin, wasting millions of taxpayer dollars.

For this fluoridation information site (and potentially many others) to disappear behind the government's "Internet Iron Curtain", reaffirms and adds to the plentiful evidence that fluoridation is fundamentally driven by commercial enterprises pulling the political strings of government and orchestrating stunts, glossy brochures and repetitive PR spin.
