Welcome to the Flemington and Kensington Community Website! This website is for the
people and residents of the suburbs of Flemington and Kensington. But it is also for everyone in the wider Flemington, Kensington, North Melbourne and Moonee Valley region. And for anyone anywhere interested in this part of Melbourne, its history and ammenities.
What is a "community website"? It aims to bring together in one easy-to-use site information on a wide variety of topics relevant to the residents in the area. It includes information on local services and facilities and local government. There is info on health, education, public housing, public transport and child care. Because many of the residents of the area have settled here from places all around the world, there is also information on immigration and the many organisations that exist to help them. While many of the residents of Flemington and Kensington are relatively new to Australia, the suburbs themselves are one of Melbourne's older areas. A history section looks at the development of the suburbs over the past 150 years or so. And there is a Photo Gallery with lots of images of the area.
