ABOUT US |
FRIENDS OF EMERALD LAKE PARK
The special value of our park is largely due to its 100+ year heritage and the continued efforts of local people since that time. We meet about once a month to discuss ways in which we might help. The unique environment and heritage values are of special interest and to preserve these adequately requires funding and management by our Shire Council with limited rescources. With fund raising, Capital Grants and our volunteer effort, we have added value and helped to increase visitor numbers and so reduce costs. Work proceeds through monthly working bees when our volunteers help with the upkeep of the gardens and other projects. We actively encourage visitors to "have fun" during their visit through an activities pamphlet, and extend an invitation to local, interstate and international tourists to visit and enjoy our park.
