Emerald Lake Park 2002
In 1941 Sir Frank Beaurepaire, Lord Mayor of Melbourne opened Emerald Lake Park.
The story began years before when a creek was dammed for the production of rope flax on Nobelius's nursery.
By the 1920's a pool had been dug so schoolchildren learned to swim. Under different owners the lake was enlarged and more trees planted.
