SOME THINGS WE HAVE DONE

The path at the left was our first major project. Since that time we have achieved much to improve the appearance of our park. The garden beds at the time of our incorporation were neglected, overgrown and unsightly. They are today much more attractive and well maintained.

Our activities have stimulated much interest by staff and the Council who assist us with Grants and advise. The advisory Committee set up following a meeting between FELP and senior council staff and our local Councillor, to improve communication between Council and all stake holders continues to meet regularly.

A number of weeds have been targeted over the years with notable success in reducing their impact throughout the park. Planting, weeding and mulching is a regular agenda and we have three working bees per month. Richies IGA community benefits scheme supported by the local community helps us with the cost of plants etc.

We have produced a leaflet encouraging the young and their parents to have fun exploring the park.   To publicise the park and the friends we produced a web site, with a quarterly newsletter to keep all informed of whats happening, what we are doing and other interesting items.
