WHY WAS FCRPA ESTABLISHED?
-
To enable
retired "forestry" people
to meet at
regular
intervals;
-
To renew friendships
and
socialise;
-
To discuss
and act on matters of mutual interest;
-
To
establish, and maintain, Forests Heritage Museums at
nominated
locations;
-
To collect,
preserve and maintain forest memorabilia for
the general public, and future generations.
HOW
IT HAPPENED
On 4th July
1979, a group of Forests Commission Victoria retirees met
to establish a Retired Officers
Association.
The
first meeting was held on 29 November
1979.
On 6th July
1999, the FCRPA was incorporated
WHAT WE DO
The FCRPA
conducts five (5) meetings a year, with
outings as
required.
WHO CAN JOIN
Any
retired
former employee of the Forests Commission
Victoria, the Departments
of
Conservation Forests and Lands, or its various successors.
Many members
retain a
love of the bush, and the
achievements
attained through long careers in the Commission. For many, this
started their at the
Victorian
School of Forestry Creswick, and the University of Melbourne.
