Class: Amphibia               Order: Anura
Family: Leptodactylidae    Genus:Crinia or Ranidella.

Description: Small frog with brown back, sometimes banded in light and dark brown. The under surface is granular white with black patches.

Length: (Adult) Male 20mm, Female 25mm.
Maximum tadpole length 30mm.

Habitat: Cool to warm temperate pools and creeks in grassland, as found at Bushy Park Wetlands.

Distribution: The Common Eastern Froglet is known to inhabit more than 1 million square kilometres in the south-eastern part of the Australian continent, including Tasmania.

Breeding: Breeding occurs throughout most of the year. The spawn containing 100-150 pigmented eggs is laid in small clumps in shallow water. The tadpoles are light grey or brown with scattered dark flecks on their body and fins. The tadpole stage lasts for six to 10 weeks.

Mating Call: The male mating call Speaker icon is a sharp "crick" sound every 1 second, which sounds like crickets.
