The Essendon Choral Society, Inc., was founded in 1979, and provides challenging and exciting opportunities for a community choir. Rehearsals are held Tuesday evenings at 7.45 pm at the Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School (PEGS) Junior School hall, in Raleigh Street, Essendon. New members are always welcome. In 2009 we are celebrating 30 years of presenting choral music in the north-western Melbourne area. We are also celebrating Greg Hocking's 20th year as conductor. We are very pleased that the Moonee Valley Council is helping us in financially supporting our concerts to celebrate this achievement. Details of our celebrations are on our Performances page ![]() Presentations Greg Hocking, Musical Director, Wendy Smart President and Felicity Baldock, Soprano ECS performed a Concert celebrating the work of Faure, at St Johns Church Essendon on 17 May 2009. At the concert President Wendy Smart was delighted to make a presentation to Greg Hocking who is celebrating his 20th Anniversary as Musical Director of the Choir. Greg has brought a great deal of dedication, experience and extended contacts to the Choir. The result has been many successful concerts featuring highly regarded soloists and orchestras. One of those soloists is Soprano Felicity Baldock who has been supportive with ECS concerts and activities over many years. A presentation was made to Felicity in recognition of her participation.
