Social Activities
The Eastern Suburbs Photographic
Society combines its focus on
photography with a relaxed social
atmosphere culminating in the society's
annual Christmas meeting in December
of each year. The society's own one-
man orchestra often performs at such
occasions, and can be seen in the
image to the left.
Other activities include weekends away
which combine social and photographic
activities; occasional dinners and
fundraising activities aimed at
generating additional funds for the
society's program.
Regular raffles on competition nights,
and a monthly newsletter complete the
social aspect of life within ESPS.
Typically on our social outings we visit various interesting places near to
Melbourne. These outings provide not only photographic opportunities,
but a chance to interact in a more relaxed way providing a contrast to
the more competitive atmosphere of meetings. In recent times club
members have visited places such as the Police Acadamy in Mt
Waverley, Horatio’s Kerosine Tin House in Tecoma and a river cruise on
the Maribyrnong river. We have also visited the National
Rhododendron Gardens and many other photogenic places. Weekends
away are also arranged once every year.
