| Guides: | Ken Hall and Graham Jones |
| Location: | Preston Tramway Workshops
St Georges Road, Preston |
| Time: | 4:00 pm. |
The Melbourne and Metropolitan Tramways Board Preston Tramway Workshops were opened in 1927 for the purpose of building Melbourne's now lamented "W" Class electric trams.
The workshops are now managed by ALSTOM and service the more modern trams operated by both M Trams and Yarra Trams.
The tour will focus on how the workshops operated during the period of
construction and maintenance of the "W" Class trams.
It will be guided by long standing former employees of the MMTB, Ken Hall, a Mechanical Engineer; and Graham Jones, who was the Foreman of the Body Shop.
The number of persons that can be accommodated in the tour is limited to 40 so REGISTRATION IS NECESSARY. There is no charge for the tour.
