Earthcare is a practical, local environment group. We work closely with specialists and the Council to improve the environment in the City of Port Phillip. Our main projects are to increase the diversity and extent of indigenous vegetation including sites such as West Beach and the Canterbury Road Urban Forest, we study the penguin and rakali populations, we have air and water quality monitoring groups and underwater studies of St Kilda harbour, and we are creating an environmentally sustainable house. Meetings are held at the EcoCentre, Corner of Blessington Street and Herbert Street, St Kilda at 7.30 pm on the last Thursday of the month, alternate with committee meetings. Please check calendar for information about this months meeting speaker. Membership includes the bimonthly newsletter, admission to talks by guest speakers, access to specialist project groups, and participation in local plantings. Cost annually: Individuals $20.00 or $30.00 Families. Students or Concession card holders $10 It's a great way to study local ecology, with or without formal qualifications, while giving something to our community.
