"The Early Edition"is back in production! Giving up trying to breastfeed is a traumatic decision for many. The full term world does not offer much sympathy for those who decide it is not a comfortable endeavor. See how others have dealt with the guilt of giving up breastfeeding. "One step forward, two steps back," an all to familiar saying for those still in the NICU. It really does seem that just when things make progress, something comes up to slow things down again. Do you ever feel like your child’s stay in the NICU will never end? Read how others have coped when the promise of release is just out reach. When an infant is born prematurely, there is the ever present fear that the child might not survive the fight. It is something we don’t like to think about, but it is none the less a reality for many. Ed Martinelli gives his perspective on how he and his wife dealt with the loss of their precious son Buddy. Another undeniable reality of a stay in the NICU is scars. Preemie Child discusses how to deal with the questions and feelings that arise when others notice the scars. Jon returns to the column he started. In this issue’s E-male, Jon compares his son *then* to his son *now*, and of course all the emotions tied to the comparison! Deb shares with us the overwhelming emotions of an ordinary day at the movies, for a not so ordinary family It conference time!!!!! Parents of Premature Babies Inc. presents: "When life begins in the NICU:
Understanding the effects of prematurity on the child and the family." Beautiful Denver Colorado is the setting for
