Editor's note: I just wanted to take a minute to thank you for reading our newsletter. I hope that in some way it has helped someone to cope a bit better with stress and anxieties of having a premature child. My son, Taylor was born at 28 weeks, weighing in at 1 lb. 15 oz (895 grms). He is the surving twin of twin-to-twin-transfusion syndrome. I lost my Alex at 25 weeks. Like so many others, my friends and family really had no idea what we really endured giving birth so early. I have found such comfort and support in the other members of Preemie-l... The general public just doesn't understand, and can not really begin to empathize. To get real understanding and support, you have to connect with someone who has had the same experiences....That is what Preemie-l is all about. My hope, and the hope of Anne Casey and Gary Hardy (founders of Preemie-l), is that this newsletter will in some way extend the support that preemie-l provides over the internet, and bring it into the NICU's, to those who might not have internet access. We further hope that it will reach the doctors and nurses that care for our little joys... that they may have a new outlook on what it is to be a parent of the little ones they care for... that it brings the humanity back into a world filled mostly with machines, and monitors, and alarms. If you are reading this newsletter on paper.. it is because someone has taken the time to download it off the internet, print it out and share it with you...
