adoption and children's disabilities
http://www.comeunity.com/index.html

Allison and Rick Martin have created an extraordinary site.  How else can I describe a site that brings together so much information and support.  This website has many facets, adoption, children's disabilities, and of course prematurity.

Premature Baby - Premature Child
Support for parents of children born prematurely.
http://www.comeunity.com/premature/index.html

Touching and informative articles for anyone interested in support and coping with the long terms impacts related to prematurity.  This can be therapists, parents of preemies of various ages, or researchers. Allison and Rick have compiled many stories and articles from other preemie parents and professionals on the things that we face everyday, as well as many of the things we fear. You will find a tribute to dad's of children born prematurely in "The Strongest Men".  You can read Allison's and Rick's personal story.  You will also see many articles on griping topics such as Growth and Prematurity, Cerebral Palsy, and Vision Impairments.
Articles and ideas from parents and professionals are always welcome.  Send all submissions to Allison and Rick at: cyberfam@cais.com

Preemie-L Resource Websites
"Resource websites of families with premature babies
to lead you into the world of preemie parenting."
http://www.comeunity.com/premature/preemiepgs.html

Premature Baby Internet Resources lists all the Resource Websites from Preemie-L Members which provide essential information on premature children, listings of the hundreds of preemie websites from around the world, and other opportunities to reach out to other preemie parents. These websites about prematurity provided by the parents on the Preemie-L mailing list demonstrate the vitality of the support which parents of children with disabilities or special needs can offer each other.

Preemie Child
A support group for parents of children born prematurely
who are now school age or older
http://www.comeunity.com/premature/preemie-child/index.html

Preemie-child is a email support listserv for parents of children who were born prematurely and are now school age. Children who are born very prematurely may have disabilities and special needs, including medical, physical and psychological impacts, which continue to require attention as they enter school and society. This listserv brings together this small (but growing) group of families for support to learn from each other's experiences.

Visit "Unique postcards, Unique families" and send a postcard specifically designed for adoptions, special needs, and preemie happenings!  http://www.comeunity.com/postcards/

I would be remiss if I did not mention the incredible resources for adoption  and children's disabilities also contained in this website.   Visit the adoption pages, http://www.comeunity.com/adoption/index.html , and the disability pages, http://www.comeunity.com/disability/index.html , for a listing of support listserves, a photolist of Asian children waiting adoption, passionate personal stories, and even an adoption newsletter "Real Moms" http://www.comeunity.com/adoption/realmoms/ .
