The Alexis Foundation, P.O. Box 1126, Birmingham, MI 48012-1126, (248) 543-4169, WBUL63A@prodigy.com .
The Alexis Foundation is a foundation advocating for the rights of premature infants and children and their families. It was founded in memory of Alexis Sayers, daughter of Timothy and Elaine Sayers. Our foundation offers education, information and support services for parents of preemies. We are promoting better doctor/patient relations between neonatologists and parents in the NICU, supporting parents struggling through the NICU experience and advocating for premature infants and children so that they receive the best medical care and educational services that can be provided. The Alexis Foundation raises money for research into new technological advancements and treatments that can save the lives of preemies. We also raise funds to assist parents in crisis situations, such as a necessary life flight commutes to specialty hospitals when preemies need special treatments and surgeries. The main goal of The Alexis Foundation is to educate the public about problems that result from premature births and to raise public and political awareness about these little miracles who so desperately need our love and support.
