Our friends and family often look on with awe as we go through the rigors of "preemie-parenthood", find out how other parents respond to the often heard line "How do you do it?  I could never handle it like you have!"

One unavoidable aspect of preemiedom is the scars, both physical and mental.   See how others have dealt with the physical ones on their kids.

Was there a point in your preemie ordeal that sticks out as a *turning point*?  When did you decide that all would be well, and your child would survive?

How did your own parents (or family and friends) react to your having a preemie?  Was it what you expected?  Do they tend to trivialize the whole ordeal?  See how others have dealt with parents and family who don't listen in this months "Preemie Child".

*Bonding*, the buzzword of the 90's.  We are told how important those first moments after birth are.  We are told how gravely important it is to make that all important *bond* at birth.  We preemie parents are not given those bonding moments after birth.  In "Dealings", Mara and Debbie help us to understand what bonding really is.  And how it can be achieved even in the NICU.

In this issue of "Inspirations", Deb shares with us the irony of a mom who is chronically late, giving birth 14 weeks early.
